Epilogue: Aftermath

The trip home was uneventfull. Stuart, Richard and I went together for a while. First Stuart then later Richard left me. I got home in good time.

The next day I investigated my (lack of) speedometer reading to find the cable inner had broken about 3 inches from its bottom end.The replacement cost me £27.

I also found the chain to be very loose, it had been clanking for a few days. I adjusted it, but why it needed it I don't know. I hope it hasn't suddenly decided it's come to the end of its life.

Approximate day's statistics: 302 miles, 53.3 mpg (UK), 44.4 mpg (US).

Overall statistics: 1740 miles, 53.5 mpg (UK), 44.6 mpg (US).
